Suddenly Sore

It’s been a great Sunday!

Jason and I decided to check out the UCF Farmers’ Market. It just started last weekend, so we were unsure of what it would be like.

They had a great selection and the prices were decent.

Fruit and veggies make awesome pictures!

Since it was only the second week, some reporters were there from the Orlando Sentinel. Jason and I were interviewed and they followed us around and took pictures of us shopping while asking us questions!

I will have to remember to look for the article!

We LOADED up! All of these items were $11.00!!!

By the time we got home, I was STARVING!

IMG_0283

Lunch consisted of:

free Chick-fil-a pattie from yesterday, sans bun (it was soggy!)…

IMG_0285

…mini sweet potato with brown sugar…

IMG_0286

…side of broccoli

IMG_0288

… and a nibble of mac n’ cheese leftovers that Jason was having.

Oh yes, we cannot forget the pickle tasting!

Remember my list of foods I am afraid to try? Pickles were one of them!! Caitlin gave me one on Friday to try. EEEEEEWWW!!!

IMG_0289

Me no like pickles. YUCKY!

I spent a good part of the afternoon doing homework…

IMG_0298

…eating fruit…

..and munching on popcorn.

Jason and I made a HUGE pot of chili for dinner. Jason asked for my help to make a kick butt pot of chili for the ABC cook-off, so expect many chili dinners in the near future!

We used this recipe, and added a few extras. Some CRAZY stuff went in there!

  • Acorn Squash
  • jalapeño pepper
  • cocoa powder
  • beer
  • pinto beans
  • Chinese five spice
  • lime juice

I was unsure of how all the flavors would taste together, so I did a fair amount of taste testing.

While it was simmering on low, Jason and I went on a short stroll around the apartment complex to get the blood flowing in my legs. They have gotten soooo sore all of the sudden!!!

Anyways, once dinner was ready I was barely hungry. I had to try a bit, so I had a little bowl.

IMG_0307

It is definitely a MUST TRY! The flavors went together PEREFCTLY!! I was so impressed!

I had a baby brownie for dessert!

I’m now icing my quads, and watching the Desperate Housewives premiere with BFF Debbie!!

My legs are hating me right now… they seem to be feeling worse! They are evenly sore, so I’m not too worried. (If only one hurt this bad, I would be worried that I injured something.)

I’m pretty sure this weekend went by too fast!

Off to bed!

  3. Icing your legs is such a good idea after a killer run. I’ve learned the hard way that for me it is almost necessary.

Your and Jason’s chili looks yummy. I’m going to make some soon now that the weather is cooling down here in Japan!

  8. What awesome farmer’s market pictures! It is also cool that the paper is covering it, hopefully more people will see how easy and affordable it is and use them more to get their fruits and veggies. I’m glad the chili turned out good too, I’m going to have to try that recipe!

Hope your legs feel better soon 🙂

  9. Don’t you just love Farmer’s Market!?!? You can’t beat the selection and prices, though I think some markets can still be a bit pricey at times. I go to the one by me often, accept during the summer months when it is just too hot out there to stroll around. Your chili was interesting, looked good! Hope you feel better soon. =) Laura
