Defeated.

I don’t even know what to say.

That was the the worst and hardest test I have taken in any class ever. Sometimes I honestly wonder why I even bother studying. I gave it my all and apparently that is still not good enough.

It also looks like I’m not going to be able to run in the morning either, my left shin is extreme pain. It hurt to walk down the stairs after class and just walking around.

It’s been a really rough night… I just need to sleep.

Tomorrow is a new day!

  1. This probably won’t help at all, but I know how you feel. I am in graduate school for my master’s in accounting and it seems like everything I have been doing this semester just isn’t enough. There have been a couple of tests where I spent hours upon hours studying for days, but ended up barely passing.

It’s so easy to get discouraged, but I try to keep it positive. All we can do is give it our best! I also try to remind myself when I am feeling overwhelmed, that even though school is very very important, there are always a lot of other great things in life to be thankful for as well!

Hope you have a better day tomorrow 🙂

  2. Megan, I’m really sorry to hear that your test was so tough. I have NO clue how you do what you do, but just peek back at your last post and remind yourself that you did your best. Whenever I get discouraged or don’t do great at something, I remember that it is just a teeny tiny bump in the grand scheme of things. Good for you for resting your leg … it totally sucks, I know, but you’ll be glad you did!

  3. Chin Up Darling!

Don’t let something so minute as test eat away at you. You will do better on the next test and one day of not running won’t hurt. Your mind and body need rest. The test is in the past . . . wait for the results, (you may have done better than you actually think you did!), learn from your mistakes, and move on.

You have been such a trooper this week . . . give yourself a nice little break this weekend!
    Catch a movie, get yourself a pedicure, or indulge in a little treat . . . !

    hope everything is better tomorrow
    xoxo

  4. You’re an engineering major. Engineering exams are TOUGH! I’m only a sophomore ChemE major, and I am already suffering. I am a straight-A student and I’m used to doing well in school but engineering is seriously pushing my limits. I can’t imagine being a senior. Having said that, cheer up! If you found it tough after all that work, I bet the rest of the class also found it hard. It’s not you. It’s just that the test is impossible, heh.

  5. I’m sorry to hear that but hopefully you did better than you think. If not, you have to remember it’s not the end of the world. God, I feel like I roll my eyes when people say this stuff to me because I am super Type A and get ridiculously frustrated by the little things–but it’s all true. There will be other tests to do well on. You’ve done great so far–so I expect you’ll continue down that path, despite a lousy test here and there

  6. Rest. Relax. BREATHE. Keep it in perspective …. 🙂

  7. Ugh! I’m sorry to hear about your test. I know it’s super frustrating to not perform well when you’ve given it your all.

But remember, you don’t actually know how you did yet. I’ve walked out of tests before feeling terrible but not doing so bad. I think we’re all our own worst critics.

  8. *hug*

I agree- you don’t know how bad it was until you get your grade. It might be a pleasant surprise.

Hope tomorrow is a bright new day. Use your run time to relax and take care of you! (or let Jason take care of you 🙂

  9. LOVE YOU GIRL! Today sucked but tomorrow will be sooooo much better!!! 🙂

    Take care hun! 🙂

  10. sending hugs!!! the good days seem oh so much better when you have the not so good to balance them out!

  11. You know that if YOU thought it was bad, then so did everyone else (and if they said they didn’t.. they’re lying) because that’s how engineering school works. You might get a 50 on a test, but that’s OK because the average was a 40 🙂 You can’t let one test or even one class define your success as an engineer. And you definitely can’t let one run or injury define your strength. Your body is telling you to slow down.. take a break and enjoy the needed rest 🙂 IT’S FRIDAY!

  12. If you know you did your best, then that IS enough. It’s all anyone can do!

Good luck with your shin. I know my shins start hurting when my shoes are getting old… when I was in Florida this summer, my shoes literally melted I think, because I needed new ones after only 3 months! I’m still having knee pain and my big 10 mile race i’ve been training for is this weekend 😦 Why is running so destructive on the body!?!?

  13. Girl, I feel the same way about my grad classes:( Schools just tough and if you gave it your all then that’s all you can do! There is always next time to do better! Hoping your skin feels better!!

  14. I am sorry to hear about your test. School is tough but keep your head up and know that you gave it your all.. that’s really all you can do. When it rains.. it pours, doesnt it? Take it easy with the shin! Hopefully tomorrow will be better for you! Best wishes!

  15. Ugh. I know how you feel. I had one of “those exams” on tuesday. You know what though, you did your best, and that is all anyone can ask for. You studied to the max! Your brain can only retain so much info. It might have not been AS bad as you think. I’m sure you aren’t the only one who felt defeated, and who knows, maybe there will be a scale! Good luck!

  16. I’m sending a smile your way 😀 FEEL BETTER!

  17. megan thats right! tomorrow is a brand new day 🙂 sorry the test was extremely hard and i know exactly how you feel when you studied soo much but then the test is hard, it is extremly frustrating!

  18. i’m sorry i know that feeling and it sucks. but like you said today is a new day! you did your best to prepare and that’s what matters 🙂

  19. I hope you are feeling better today!

  20. 😦 Ugh. I hate that feeling. I’m glad you had a good weekend and aren’t letting the test KEEP you down. You can only do so much, and I’m sure you gave it your best 🙂
