Late Start

Sorry for the delay in posting.I didn’t get home from class until 11:00 pm, and I let myself sleep in!

I woke up around 8:30 this morning, and felt really sluggish. It took me an HOUR to get out the door for my run! I really didn’t feel like running this morning, which was shocking, considering the past two runs I have been super excited about!

I saw 6.0 miles on the marathon training plan and got a little freaked out. Why? I don’t really know. I told myself just to get out there and run at any pace that felt comfortable. I think that worked for me, because basically I was lazy and didn’t feel like pushing it this morning. I ended up completing 6.25 miles in a little over an hour, because I walked a bit (and didn’t stop the watch).

Before I left, I had half a blueberry crisp CLIF bar. I swear it tastes like a Blueberry Muffin!


I am just now eating breakfast! (Yes, it’s really 11:00 am).


I used up the last of my Kashi H2H cereal, which was probably two servings, plus a banana, and fat free milk.



After lunch, I worked on a project for school, and munched on pretzels and PB straight from the bag. My appetite is still pretty low, so I didn’t worry about eating the whole bag or anything. I love this snack!


I was SERIOUSLY dragging yesterday. Waking up for a 7:30 am class… and then having to go to class again from 4:30-10:20pm is painful. I stopped for some caffeine!


Pumpkin Spice Latte! It’s basically a nonfat latte, with one pump pumpkin spice, no whip cream. The real thing is SO sweet, and adds like 200 extra calories. Not necessary at all.


I packed two leftover tacos for dinner, which I had to eat cold. They got a little soggy, but it was better than paying $$$$ for food on campus.


I made them before I left:

  • soft taco shells
  • black beans
  • pepper jack cheese
  • green bell pepper
  • tomato


I wrapped them individually to make it easier to eat and walk.


When I got home, I needed a little snack. I cut up an apple, sprinkled with cinnamon, and microwaved it for 30 seconds. Delicious!


Ok, It’s almost 11:30 am. I need to get my day started!!!

  1. That’s my fav kind of Cliff bar!!! 🙂 I have never tried Starbucks pumpkin spice latte, but with all the jazz about them in the blog world I may have to give one a try! Great run this morning! Have a good day 🙂

  6. ugh, boo for long days on campus! 😦 Glad you made it through and glad you also made it through your run.

    I have a little tip for you on your Kashi breakfast bowl. Try adding a tiny amount of PB next time. I promise, it will elevate your cereal to another extreme. It’s amazing!

  7. I hear ya on the coffee syrup deal! I always order 1/2 pumps of flavor, even the sugar-free flavors that add no calories are WAY TOO SWEET full strength! Microwaved apples are the best sweet treat!

  8. PB and pretzels are the best snack!! I spy that little Publix logo on your pretzels and I’m so jealous. There are several Publix storebrand staples–including one aaaamazing ice cream flavor–that I’m in love with… but am deprived of, as NYC has not a single Publix 😦 haha

  10. You can never go wrong with a bowl of Kashi H2H cereal, i have had that bowl of love for breakfast lunch and dinner so many times , love the pumpkin spice latte too! Its the best!

  14. I just tried that flavor of Clif Bar before my 10 miler yesterday! I loved it! Totally agree that it tastes like a blueberry muffin!! Great job on the run! I too like the Pumpkin Spice Lattes with only 1 pump of syrup and no whip! Makes it a perfect little lower calorie drink!

  15. Great job getting yourself out to run even though you didn’t feel like it. It is amazing how (usually) you feel so great afterwards even when you don’t want to start. I have to remember that myself…

    I like your starbucks idea – I don’t drink coffee, but I’ll try that we tea.

Yeah I’m a one pump girl as well when it comes to pumpkin lattes . . . except the barista (who I know was the manager because it’s my regular starbucks) put too many pumps in my latte on Saturday but I didn’t taste it until I got home, it was sickly sweet (okay that’s enough whining on your blog)

  18. Totally agree on the Blueberry Crisp bar–my roommate and I can’t decide if it’s more like pie or muffin!
    PB and pretzels is prob my all time fave snack.
