Things I’m Thankful For #9

As much hard work as I put in to school, I really need to start appreciating my down time. I’m thankful for vacations, time off, and travelling!

I always complain that “I never go anywhere”, but I know that isn’t true. Looking back on the last two years of pictures on my computer, and I instantly changed my mindset.

I’m thankful for all the places I’ve been able to see in my life! Here’s a little picture timeline… 😀

Myrtle Beach: Nov. 2007

Jason and I had only been dating officially for a month, and we made a road trip up to Myrtle Beach… just because?!

It was FREEEEZING! (Well… for a beach)

March 2008: Miami, FL

I went to Miami on a road trip with a big group of girls! IMG_2533

Well… technically we were there for the Society of Women Engineers Conference (SWE)… (Can you find me? I’m the bottom of the “S”)

No worries, we still had a blast…

March 2008: San Diego, California!

I spent spring break week with my friend Taylor. It was the first trip I actually saved up to pay for with all of my own money. I was so proud to travel just for fun, and not to visit family.

ZOO (35)

Mexico! ok… well just the border.

Vegas! ok… just the airport.

(Clearly I’ve been food blogging a while… LOL)

I could go on and on with pictures…

May 2008: Chicago

My dad took me and my sister on a trip to visit the Windy City!

Probably one of the best trips ever!

February 2009: Honolulu, Hawaii!

Ummm… not gonna lie. Best trip of my life.

April 2009: Crystal River, FL

…and camping!

May 2009: East Coast Road Trip

Washington, D.C.

Germantown, MD

…with short/darker hair might I add..

Virginia Beach, VA

WOW! What a long post this turned out to be. I guess I do have a lot to be thankful for!

Are you thankful for the places you’ve seen? 😀

  1. What a great pictorial of the wonderful places you have been Megan. Some times we all need a reminder to slow down and appreciate all that we have seen and experienced. Your trip to San Diego/Mexico reminds me of my own. I went when I was 19 and it was also my first trip to not visit family and funded by myself.
Have an AWESOMELY AMAZING day!! 🙂

  2. Yay for wonderful vacations!! My honeymoon is probably my favorite recent trip – 10 days in Santorini with no obligations, no alarm clocks and lots of sunshine!

  3. fun post 🙂 love all the pictures!! i so want to go to hawaii someday..

  4. Wow you’ve been all over! Lucky girl:D You are right about Hawaii…definitely amazing.

  5. Beatiful! I wish I had traveled more while I had the opportunity. Now that I have a son it makes things complicated, but we will do it. We are starting to save now to take him to Disney World next year.

  6. Wow!! I am so jealous that you went to Hawaii! I have always wanted to go. I am so thankful that I have had to ability to travel a little. I used to be on a travel cheerleading team and if it wasn’t for that, I would have never gotten off the east coast!

I am most thankful that I got to spend a week in Portland, Oregon with my mom!

  7. i love the recap on all your trips! you’ve been to alot of places that i someday want to go! 🙂

  8. Love this post! I’m excited that I get to visit Orlando in March! 🙂

  9. Ack! I’ve never been to any of these places (except for DC), so thank you for the happy tour. 😀

  10. You’ve been lots of cool places!! I’m thankful to get to travel for RACES, like Disney World in January!! The happiest place on earth!!!!

  13. ahh im dying to go to hawaii!! ive been to myrtle beach a ton of times-it gets pretty crazy during the first part of the summer!

  14. I’m so thankful to live in amazing Washington, DC, but also be spending my first two years out of college traveling around the world. Since graduation in May 2008, I’ve been to Belize, Guatemala, Alaska, Canada, South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand and Australia, with trips to Costa Rica, New Zealand and (again) Australia lined up for the next few months.

    Lucky, lucky girl. 🙂

  15. What fun trips you have been on!!

  16. fun post!! you’ve been everywhere! I’m jealous.

  17. I really appreciate this series you’re doing on being thankful. While it’s appropriate for the season, it’s also a good reminder to appreciate what we do have. I find it easy in my own life to focus on the negatives and wallow in self pity, but I’m glad to be reminded, through you and your blog, that it’s important to count our blessings.
    So, thanks for that.
You’ve done a lot of traveling and it looks like you had a lot of fun doing it.
I’ve been to Hawaii and I live in DC, but what tickled me the most was your trip to Crystal River; I grew up in Citrus County!

  18. D.C! yay!
what did you do in germantown?! i live near there but, it seems like a random place to visit. not a ton going on. did you go to Sugarloaf?!

    • Haha we went for Jason’s family reunion. I’m not sure where it was… it was like a park/lodge type thing. LOL. we were only there for one day, but it was really pretty!

  19. OMG I grew up in Crystal River! I went to Crystal River Middle and High School. How funny. The water there is just beautiful, isn’t it?

  20. I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now. I couldn’t figure out where you are blogging from but I think it’s crazy that you spent time in the town I live in… Germantown, MD… kinda random.

  21. i have that SAME black and white dress you are wearing in your SWE picture!! its one of my favorites 🙂
