The Gang’s All Here!

Debbie’s whole bridal party is in Orlando!

Meg flew in from Illinois last night, Deb flew in from New Jersey, Joanna drove up from Boca, and Jenny drove up from Ft. Lauderdale! It was fun to all finally get together to discuss Debbie’s bachelorette and wedding plans in person.

Before everyone arrived, we had lunch at Designer Greens, one of the few places Debbie and Mike missed about Orlando.

I enjoyed my usual summer salad, complete with spring mix, mandarin oranges, strawberries, gala apple, pecans, and honey poppy seed dressing.

We are going shopping for our bridesmaids dresses today, but wanted to kick off our weekend with a night on the town. Last night, we started out at the Orlando Brewing Company.

The Orlando Brewing company is one of only 9 organic breweries in the USA. We went on the free brewery tour and learned all kinds of fun facts about the beer. I don’t know that much about beer, so it was fun to learn!

Each person selected a beer to bring with them on the tour. I sampled a few, but ended up with the Miami Weiss (the lighter one).

After the tour, we finished up our beers and discussed the plans for the rest of the evening.

I think the alcohol got to some of us faster than others…

After searching away on our smartphones…

…we determined that Ember seemed like a close and fun place to go.

The restaurant, which turns into a bar after dinner time, has a relaxed feel to it.

Debbie, her friend Meg and I split a bottle of Pinot Noir. I had two glasses… it was delicious!

When I eat out, I tend to order one of the least expensive items on the menu. I go straight to the appetizers or salads because it saves me money!

Luckily, I found the veggie flatbread which was semi-healthy and inexpensive!

I had half of the flatbread, and saved the rest for later.

Not wanting the party to end, we walked a block and a half to Mochi frozen yogurt. Self-serve treat places are so awesome because you can add whatever you want and pay per ounce.

Mark and I split a strawberry banana flavored frozen yogurt, topped with:

  • kiwi
  • waffle cone pieces
  • blackberries
  • gummy bears (bad idea, Mark!)
  • white chocolate chips
  • reese’s cup
  • cookie dough pieces

I think we literally threw everything on there.

It was a hodge-podge, but delicious, nonetheless. 😀
