Slam Buttons

I’m slowly becoming addicted to my beloved cup of Joe. I fumbled to the coffee machine and slammed the make me coffee, damn it ON button. Such a good decision to prep the night before.

I had to wake up at 4:45 am so that Jason could drop me off for my flight before work. Somehow I managed to get in five minutes of Whittle my middle before I thought I was going to die.

It took approximately 5 minutes to get through Jet Blue’s flight check in and security. I now have an hour to kill. What better way to spend it then with my bloggies? 😀

I only got around to drinking a few sips before being yelled at to get into the car. Once I got settled, I decided coffee round two was necessary.

I love the RED cup! 😀

I got a seasonal favorite of mine, Gingerbread latte! Well… sort of. The regular version has 2% milk, 3 pumps of syrup, and whipped fat cream.

MY Version has:

  • nonfat milk
  • 1 pump Gingerbread syrup
  • no whip

I still got all the flavor without having a 6:00 am sugar high. 😀

To quiet my loudly growling tummy, I also ordered the Perfect Oatmeal.

I mixed half of each packet into my Oatmeal:

  • Brown sugar
  • Dried fruit
  • Mixed nuts

I can’t believe I paid 2.79 for this thing. It was tasty, but I mean I can buy a 50 serving thing of oats for that price at Publix.

I’m going to attempt to get some work done before I board…

…oh wait, that’s not work, that’s Twitter!! (You can also follow my twitter updates on the right side of my blog)

I’ll be updating frequently, now that I can do so from my cell phone! 😀

Well, I’m off! See you on the flip side.

Don’t forget to pick me up,  Debbie!!! 😀

One Week Down, One More To Go

One week ago today, I ran 18.0 Miles!

Three hours later,  had surgery on both my big toes.

The doctor said no running for two weeks, while my toes heal! My first week of not running hasn’t been to bad. It was a welcomed mental and physical break for the most part. I even got in a few mini-workouts!

Saturday: 15 minutes of core work

Sunday:  rode my gym’s stationary bike for 30 minutes.

Monday: 10 minutes of core work and pushups.

Tuesday: Jillian Michaels Boost metabolism video (which made my hamstrings sore!?)

Wednesday: stretching

It’s been a week, and I finally got up the courage to put my sneakers on. I have been cringing just thinking about doing this…  (By the way, look how dirty they are now?!)

The weather is pretty cold (for Florida) and quite gloomy.

I set out to take a walk, and honestly it was probably a bad idea. Not because it hurt, I felt GREAT! However, it was such a tease not being able to run.

I honestly wanted to cry. My muscles are rested and ready to go. My brain is done taking a mental break. The weather was cool and I wanted to RUN!! I’m really frustrated that I am in the middle of training for my first marathon, and cannot run.

Silly toes. One glance at them, and it’s clear they aren’t healed. I will spare you a picture.

I keep telling myself, only one more week. I’m halfway there.

I came back from my short walk and made some oatmeal. It was the perfect morning for a warm breakfast.

My bowl of oats had:

  • 1/2 cup Oats
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Brown sugar
  • almonds
  • blueberries
  • coconut

I think I put too much coconut (it was a little too sweet), but it was still pretty good!

I am actually learning some valuable lessons through this experience. It’s frustrating, and I hate it, but I think that some good has come out of it. I plan to discuss this in the next couple of days.

I have a boat load of work to get done by Monday, and it’s time to get crackin’!

Have you ever had to take time off from exercise because of an injury? What did you learn from it?
