Studying on Saturday

The last five or six Saturday’s of my life have been either

a. FE Review class 8am-5pm

OR

b. Early morning race and THEN class until 5pm

 

Today was no different. I then continued my long day by spending another four hours studying for my Thermo test. MY LIFE = Studying.

When will my life be normal?!?

I am studied out! Honestly though, my grades stink worse then my trash can. I NEED to do well on these tests… my future (aka graduating, getting out of massive debt, and moving away with Jason) depends on it!

Sorry, I needed to vent!

 

Now onto what you REALLY want to read about… FOOD!

I started my morning off with a bowl mug of Oatmeal. It’s easier to take it on the go this way.

It had the usual… with banana and almond butter.

Jason ate my leftover sushi, which was disappointing, but I decided to make sushi wraps!

I basically took a whole wheat wrap, spread a decent amount of sundried tomato hummus, added deli meat, and sprouts. Then, I wrapped it up, and cut into cute little bite sized pieces!

I packed the “sushi” with 2 carrots and extra hummus:

I like to have mini-meals when I’m at school, so I also packed a cut up honey crisp apple…

… and a pumpkin pie Kashi bar. These things taste like dessert, but are actually pretty healthy!

Time to wrap this post up! I’ll finish up the day’s eats in the morning. You will have to wait in suspense until then. I made a very “fall” meal, and had a “glo”-ing dessert! 😀

My Manic Monday

Good morning, and happy Monday! Err…Can Monday’s BE happy?

I have a JAM PACKED day starting with a lab at 7:30am, Test at 9:30 am, 2 Assignments due at noon, Field Trip at 3, and then class from 4:30-10:20. YIKES!

 

I woke up extra early this morning to get my stuff together and out the door on time. I never have time to work out on Monday’s so I take that as my rest day every week. Before I left, I made a nice warm bowl of Pumpkin Oatmeal!

This time, I topped it with plain Oikos and some dried cranberries. YUM!

Since I will have a full field trip recap after dinner, I figured I’ll give you a lunch preview! I packed a lunchbox full of stuff, and I’m planning on stopping for a smoothie after my field trip (my punch card is full, time for a free one!).

I have no idea when I will eat all this, but I’m pretty sure it will all hold me til 5:00 pm when I get a smoothie! 😀

It’s easier for me to eat half at a time because I usually have to be sneaky about eating in class or labs. I don’t really have a lunch break time.

I pack a napkin and plastic baggie because I always make a mess! I eat the apple, whip my hands, and throw the core into the baggie. It pays to be prepared.

I realize that I have tons of snacks, and a small wrap, but it’s easier for me to eat this way on busy days. I don’t have time for a full blown lunch, but I need to keep my energy up for my manic Monday!!

I have my stuff all packed up, my change of clothes… I think I’m ready for the day. Off to take my test!

Not Goodbye, See You Later

I just said “see you later” to my BFF Debbie. As I’ve been saying, Debbie is leaving tomorrow for NJ and I’m really sad. 😦

I’ve actually known for quite some time but didn’t say anything about it on the blog until a week or so ago, so I’ve had time to “prepare”. LOL.

I’m not going to lie, growing up is hard!

 

Today should have been spent studying for tomorrow morning’s hydrology test, but I couldn’t bring myself to study. I spent all of last week studying, and it got me nowhere. I’m rebelling.

I made a quick lunch before heading out for some errands. Quesadilla with grilled zucchini, leftover chicken, and cheddar cheese.

I ate the zucchini that wouldn’t fit into the quesadilla on the side. Grilled zucchini is so delicious!

During errands, I met up with Meghann. We stopped at Starbucks for some refreshments. It’s flippin’ hot outside!

I had an iced nonfat latte with 2 pumps vanilla. Oh so yummy!

Meghann was generous and shared a pumpkin spice Hershey’s  kiss.

I expected chocolate with pumpkin inside, but it was orange pumpkin goodness!

I also snacked on an apple and peanut butter when I got home:

Tonight I was on my own for dinner, which basically means I can have whatever I want! I secretely love these nights!

I tried to recreate the Publix Tuscan Minestrone soup that I had a few weeks ago. It came out different but amazing!

I started with these two soups, veggie broth and roasted red pepper and tomato:

I added some roasted veggies:

  • broccoli
  • onion
  • carrot
  • mushroom
  • peas
  • celery

I boiled some macaroni pasta and spinach… and added in some white beans and thyme. I let it all simmer for 20 minutes or so…

I’m happy to say that I have leftovers! Soup is my comfort food.

So is chocolate… times…3.

My test is in 8 hours… I haven’t studied!?!

It’s so hard to focus my mind on school when I feel like there are one billion other things going on!

 

I’m really sorry to be so “negative nancy” lately. My life hasn’t exactly been very rainbows and sunshine lately. Things have to start looking up soon!!

 

Must… cheer…up!
