Yesterday, Katy H. and I took Anne to Disney for her first visit ever! In 27 years, she has never been to Walt Disney World. Whoa!
The girls met at my apartment in the morning. We had all been talking about the Cherry Chocolate Bomb Shake and decided to try one randomly.
It made a lot, but we actually did not like it.
I’m not sure if we did something wrong, but we just weren’t WOWED like we had expected. Maybe it was the chocolate powder? Not really sure.
We attempted to drink most of it, but I opted for a CLIF bar half way through.
After our shake adventure, we set out to Disney! The first park we hit up was Hollywood Studios (old MGM).
My new favorite ride is the Toy Story Adventure.
You get to wear sexy 3-D glasses and basically go into a life sized video game.
I was Player 1, Anne is Player 2. We both one e-bunnies.
Next, we hit up Rockin’ Roller Coaster.
It was pretty much a blasty.
Around noon, we headed back to the car to grab lunch. We packed a cooler full of food so that we wouldn’t waste money at the park.
I packed a salad that had:
- spring mix
- apple slices
- strawberries
- grapes
- almonds
- poppyseed dressing
…and an Almond butter sandwich.
I also grabbed a bag of Trader Joe’s sweet potato chips to munch on in the afternoon.
Next up, MAGIC KINGDOM!
The park looks beautiful right now. They have it all decorated for spring!
We hit up the major rides, and then headed to EPCOT.
I’ve been so many times, but I still really love it!
Katy told us there is a part where you can taste sodas from around the world. I have never done that before, and was really excited about it!
I sampled all of the flavors. Some I liked… others, not so much.
My favorite was Germany’s Mezzo Mix. It is a mixture of coke and orange. Good stuff! I wish we could buy that stuff here!
My least favorite was Costa Rica’s Fanta. It tasted like something the dentist tells you to “swish and spit” (aka Flouride).
We spent the late afternoon wandering around the park.
Anne and Katy took so many pictures, I can’t wait to see their blog posts.
It was difficult to choose a country to stop for dinner in. We ended up going with Morocco after I told them they had hummus!
I ordered the Falafel Wrap with hummus and couscous on the side.
As the sun set on EPCOT, we decided to head out.
We met up with Caitlin at the bar for a quick happy hour.
I had a Blue Moon, and then hit they hay.
It was such a long day, but so worth it! It’s always fun to go to Disney with someone who has never been.
Sorry that my posting has been so sporadic, I have been having too much fun!
Hi-ho, hi-ho, it’s off to work I go!

Ooooh my gosh, I have intense envy right now! I can’t even imagine the sheer JOY of having Disneyland on your door step!! My nearest decent theme park is 5hrs away, and the closest Disney is in France:'(
You are very lucky!
Sounds like a good day. I’m 28 and I’ve never been to Disney either. It took me 27 years to even get to Florida! (and I haven’t ever been to Cali yet) (I’m in MD). Maybe someday I’ll check out the Disney parks.
What a fun day!! SO cool you can go there any time ya want:) I bet Anne was SO excited.
That sunset picture is beautiful. Epcot is my fave:)
What a fun day! I’ve actually never been to Disney either 🙂
Believe me, I wish I could buy Mezzo Mix around here too. Whenever I am flying home (to Germany), I ask my mom to stock up on it! 😉
Looks like fun! I have yet to go to disney world, too. So sad!!!
Looks like such a fun day!! The only time I went to Disney I was about 4– I don’t really remember it at all!
I’ve only been to Disney World once, and I was seven, looks pretty different now, maybe another vacation is in order!
Looks like such a fun day! I love epcot 🙂
What a fun day! I am 28 and haven’t ever been to Disney! 😦
I am obsessed with Disney! (And I must say, there’s something weird about seeing Blue Moon in a Killian’s Red glass…but still makes me crave a cold one!)
I’ve only been to Disney as a little kid. I’ve never been super enthused about it, but you make it look like a lot of fun!
Smart thinking packing all that food.
the soda around the world looks so rad! when i was in spain, their coke tasted completely different than coke here in the states. and dt coke was coca lite.
When I was in college I interned at Disney…I’m sure y’all didn’t hit up the Enchanted Tiki Room where I used to work..because its awful!! I haven’t been to Disney since but those pictures make me want to jump on a plane ASAP!
Blue Moon is my favorite!!! Have you tried the new Bud Light Wheat? It tastes exactly the same but with fewer cals! Sign me up!
YAAY!!!!!! So much fun yesterday 🙂 I love the pic of us with the 3d glasses, lol.
looks like a blast!! i’ve only been to disney twice and the last time I went was about 8 years ago. I’m due for a visit!
I’m glad you are having too much fun to post regularly!
My Grandma turns 80 next year, and she has never been to Disney. My mom wants to plan a big family trip to take her – I can’t wait!
What a fun day! I lovee Disney, I havent been in quite a few years but it’s always a blast.
SO jealous that you can just go to Disney World whenever you want! Being from ON, Canada – I’ve only been twice, once when I was 6 and once when I was 12. Have always wanted to go back. One day!!
Reading this totally makes me want to go to Disney now! I’ve been a few times but that last time I went was about 9 years ago….looks like such a fun day!!
Cute post!!! I have never noticed that try sodas from around the world thing That is pretty cool.
What a fun day! I firmly believe you can enjoy Disney so much more when you’re older and/or not dragging around little kids.
We went to the World Of Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta and they have those tasting fountains from each continent. Italy has a drink called “Beverly” and it tasted like cough medicine. Blech.
How fun is that! I lived in Florida for ten years before I made it to Disney – and I’ve only been once! I loooove the Morroccan food in Epcot, that’s where we ate! Nice choice!
try the CCB again! it is soo delish! like seriously, so good.
this is what i put in mine:
1 c. almond milk
1 scoop sun warrior protein
1 tsp macca
1 tbsp Amazing Grass Chocolate Superfood
*now, blend those ingredients so they are well combined.then add..
1-2 c. spinach
1 c. frozen cherries
3 slices frozen banana
*blend. and enjoy, yum!
Please don’t think I’m a creep for posting this!
I had a dream last night that my whole family came over to your apartment and ate all of your snacks. Then I frantically went to Target to replace them for you! Jessica Biel and I were also having a slumber party at my parents house.
Talk about random! Disney looks like a lot of fun! I haven’t ever been either and I’m 23. Fail for family vacations growing up!
Hot hot glasses that’s for sure 😉 Love the pics!! I LOVE Disneyland soooo much. And I’m sure Disneyworld is 10x better!! Lucky. Hope to make it there one day!
I can’t believe you went to 3 Disney parks in ONE day! I get tired after only a few hours at one of the parks.
Where is the soda tasting thing in Epcot? We live in Tampa and go to Epcot a lot, but I have never seen that. Instead we are usually having a beer at each country 🙂
What an awesome day!!!!! And great idea taking a cooler with food for lunch!
I too tried to make a Cherry Choc Bomb and failed… I think it maybe have been b/c I didn’t have protein powder so I used a small amount of cocoa instead.
UGH the chocolate/cocoa tasted horrid with this… 😦 I still want to try it again though…
That DOES sound like a fun day! I only went to Disney for the 1st time about 2 years ago.. and I live in SC, not far. My favorite was Epcot!! I would love to sample those sodas!
Oh Disney World! I haven’t been since I was a little kid, but it looks like you had a lot of fun. I’d love to go back there (and maybe run a race!) someday.
Your falafel wrap looks so yummy – yay Middle-Eastern food!
What a fun day! You should definitely try to recreate the Mezzo Mix (a.k.a. Spezi) at home, just mix equal parts orange drink and cola.
WOW – Looks like y´all had SO much fun!
I wish I could live near Disneyland… I´d go there all the time!
;D
Have an amazing day, girl!
Brazilian XOXO´s,
Gabriela
What a funnnn day!! Love Disney!
Looks like a blast! I never went to Disneyland until I was 23–and I went to the one in Paris. Random.
I’m mostly commenting because you made me REALLY want some Mezzo Mix. I lived in Germany and although I’m not much of a soda drinker, Mezzo Mix is AWESOME. Gyaaahhh!
[…] Monday’s epic fail attempt at a Cherry Chocolate Bomb, I decided to stick to my normal recipe, and add cherries. Worked MUCH […]
I have not been to DW in many years, might be time to make a trip South and relish in the Magic of Disney.
